Wicklow Way[edit]

Wikipedia-Ambassador-Program-Logo.png

It has come to the attention of several Ambassadors and mentors that some students that lack knowledge and experience editing on Wikipedia have been attempting to participate in official review and assessment of articles, primarily for Good Article status. Others are offering second opinions to an official review being performed by other editors. Unfortunately, the review of the above referenced article was performed by a new student editor. For that reason, I recommend that a new review, disregarding the initial attempt by the student. I realize that for some editors, this may be quite frustrating. Please accept my apologies for any disruption this may have caused. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me either on my talk page or through email. Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 18:55, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Peer review limits changed[edit]

This is a notice to all users who currently have at least one open peer review at Wikipedia:Peer review. Because of the large number of peer review requests and relatively low number of reviewers, the backlog of PRs has been at 20 or more almost continually for several months. The backlog is for PR requests which have gone at least four days without comments, and some of these have gone two weeks or longer waiting for a review.

While we have been able to eventually review all PRs that remain on the backlog, something had to change. As a result of the discussion here, the consensus was that all users are now limited to one (1) open peer review request.

If you already have more than one open PR, that is OK in this transition period, but you cannot open any more until all your active PR requests have been closed. If you would like someone to close a PR for you, please ask at Wikipedia talk:Peer review. If you want to help with the backlog, please review an article whoe PR request is listed at Wikipedia:Peer review/backlog/items. Thanks, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:04, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Quatermass[edit]

I just realised I never replied to your request to look at the article again, so I'm very sorry about that. It was on my list, but somehow slipped by. For what it's worth, the changes you made look pretty good. Let me know if/when you nominate it at FAC and I'll be happy to comment further. --Sarastro1 (talk) 23:04, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

Terra guerre or Terra bellum[edit]

Hello, I discovered Wicklow Mountains after it was translated in french. I am wondering if there is not an issue about the name Terra guerre (land of war). As Terra is latin, an guerre is french. Terra bellum would have been expected. I do not have access to the sources. Could you please check if it is the right name ? Deuxtroy (talk) 20:03, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

OK, I still cannot understand, but as there is no more doubt about what this Pr wrote, no other way than to take it as it is. Thanks for your help, and for the brilliant article. Deuxtroy (talk) 22:43, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Shingouz.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Shingouz.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:01, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Backpacking project[edit]

I see you have self-identified as a backpacker by using the ”This user enjoys backpacking” userbox. I invite you to join the backpacking project. It recently reactivated. There is plenty of good work to do improving the encyclopedia’s coverage of backpacking equipment, organizations, celebrities, books, skills, and trails. The project provides a system to rate articles and prioritize editing efforts. Visit the project’s page, take a look, and please consider joining me in improving the articles and coverage of an activity we both enjoy.

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Rail trails in Ireland[edit]

A tag has been placed on Category:Rail trails in Ireland indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read!
