Added link of his "Systematic Theology". I believe this is now in public domain.

Added a link to "What Is Darwinism," written by Hodge. -- Desertphile June 12 2006

Thanks! There's no need to note it here, however. We can see it in the page history. --Flex 18:13, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

I think the discussion between Hodge's position and McCosh's a bit superfluous. I think it should only mention Hodge's position and maybe a general academic reaction to his beliefs. The section is too unfocused. -- Agarfield2004 July 13 2012 —Preceding undated comment added 14:48, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

This page has substantial NPOV issues. It needs a thorough review - especially the removal of weasels and OR - and a substantial re-write. I'm going to refer it to an editor on the group of Intelligent Design catgeory/series of articles, which should hopefully get it the necessary attention. Plutonium27 (talk) 14:01, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Agreed. It's an import from Schaff-Herzog, so what do you expect? However, I'd suggest WP:CALVINISM rather than the ID group is a more appropriate place to look. Hodge wrote one work on Darwinism, while he devoted most of his life to Calvinism and Bible commentaries from a Calvinist perspective. --Flex (talk/contribs) 15:11, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Agreement from me too! A straight hunt for [peacock prose]s and fansite formulation will probably pretty easily improve the article. Rursus dixit. (mbork3!) 21:57, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

Charles Hodge
Charles Hodge (1797–1878) was a Presbyterian theologian and principal of Princeton Theological Seminary between 1851 and 1878. He was a leading exponent of the Princeton theology, an orthodox Calvinist theological tradition in America during the 19th century. He argued strongly for the authority of the Bible as the Word of God. Many of his ideas were adopted in the 20th century by Fundamentalists and Evangelicals.Painting: Rembrandt Peale
